Cedar Point Opens May 14

Cedar Point, the greatest amusement park in the country (well, some people think so) opens Saturday May 14.

The Park opens at 10 am most days. Closing times each day vary, but weekends the park stays open until 10 or 11 pm.

The best time to ride is just after the park opens, as many people arrive later in the day, and lines are long during the midday.

Full prices are $46.99, but no one should pay full price, as discounts are available at many outlets, including AAA. Other discounts are available if you stay at the park.

One additional expense is for parking. A steep fee hits those driving to the park (and that's almost everyone.)

Have a great time at the park.

Spring time in Ohio

Spring is a great time to get out and see Ohio.

Auto Travel in Ohio

The roads are clearing, and there is much less risk of getting trapped by a sudden snowstorm (although a bit of risk). Check the forecast and head out.

Hinckley Ohio Buzzard Fest

Every year on March 15 the Buzzards return to Hinckley, Ohio. This is celebrated with a festival on the nearest weekend. OK, techincally, they are turkey vultures and they arrive somewhere around that date, and they really aren't pretty to look at.

Still, it's a fun time and a good excuse to get out. It's the beginning of the long running Ohio festival season.
